What Are Transits and Essence in Numerology?

Transits are Chaldean name-letters walked year by year. Essence is the three of them added — a clock, not a Life Path.

A name used as a clock

Physical Transit comes from the first name. Mental Transit from the middle (or last, if there is no middle). Spiritual Transit from the last name. Each letter lasts as many years as its Chaldean value — A is one year, R is two, S is three — then the name loops. Years run birthday to birthday. Age 0 is birth until the first birthday.

Essence is the three transit values added and reduced, keeping 11 and 22. It is the year’s combined weather from the name, not from the calendar.

Chaldean only — nowhere else on the seats

This is the only clock on the site that uses the Chaldean letter chart (values 1–8, no letter given 9). The four standing seats stay Pythagorean. Do not mix the two ciphers in one Life Path. See name numerology and the A–Z cluster for both values on every letter.

How it sits with the other clocks

Personal Year is Life Path plus the calendar year. Transits are the name walking. Divine Triangle is Javane’s nine-year squares. Holy Tetraktys is birthday geometry. Read them as four instruments, not as a hunt for one lucky digit.
